Our Team
Theresa Bender is a qualified teacher, translator and interpreter working in French, English and Afrikaans. She is an international French examiner for DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) up to level C2 and has completed the “Formateurs des formateurs” course to teach French teachers to become international examiners.
She holds a MA degree in Higher Education Studies, an Honours Degree in Business Administration, a BA degree in Romance Languages as well as an Advanced Diploma in Translation and an Advanced Diploma in Interpreting. She has experience in lecturing students at universities, teaching learners in high school and tutoring students of all ages and cultures in English, French and Afrikaans.
Liza Oosthuizen specialises in French and Afrikaans. Her love for French started already at school where she matriculated with French as subject. She completed a BA degree in French and Linguistics and is currently doing her Honours degree in French. She has more than 20 years’ experience in teaching French both for high school learners and university students. She is an expert in Cambridge IGCSE, AS and IEB French with learners receiving excellent marks in this subject. She is a qualified international examiner for DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) up to level B2.
Her Afrikaans teaching experience is well established in Cambridge Afrikaans IGCSE and AS and Caps FET Afrikaans up to Gr 12-level. She is also a tutor in Afrikaans for children of various ages.
Geneviève Engeström completed the TEFL (Teach English as Foreign Language) and is currently working on the FLE+ (Français langue étrangère) which she will complete in November of this year. She tutored French first and second year students at the Northwest University and currently teaches corporate French to members of the SADF. She holds a degree in Communication as well as an Honours Degree in Corporate Communication. She also succeeded in passing the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) C1 exam.
