online language school
Our Mission
Learning Languages is an online language school serving adults and children alike. We specialise in teaching and tutoring English, French and Afrikaans, with clients in South Africa, France, Francophone Africa, Belgium and the UK. We also specialise in assisting French mother tongue speakers to speak English.
In the near future Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Sesotho and isiXhosa will be added.
Our Clients
Our clients consist of adults wanting to learn another language as well as learners in high school wanting to improve their marks and general language ability in their second or third language at school. We offer both group classes and individual classes.
Our Curricula
We base our curricula on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and therefore our goal is to let the student speak, listen, write, read and understand fluently.
Other Services
We also offer language services such as interpreting, translating and editing. Our language professionals are all qualified with many years of experience.

Classes are held during the week in the afternoon and early evening until 19h00 as well as some Saturday mornings.
FRENCH
French:
We teach French from beginners to advanced speakers, in small groups or in individual classes. We use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as directive and help the student to do the DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) exams. Our teachers are qualified French speakers and international accredited examiners.
French Second Additional Language as school subject:
French is taught as a school subject starting in grade 8. Learners write French through the IEB as eighth subject. Grade 8 and 9 learners have 2 hours of French per week, grade 10 have 3 hours of French per week and grades 11 and 12 have 5 hours. The syllabi for grades 11 and 12 include literature (book or short stories and poetry). Learners taking French with Learning Languages are fluent in French by their matric year.
